founder and owner
George Meyer founded George Meyer Company in 1954. The company began as a modest business selling residential storm doors and windows in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Our first location was a small rented building on the northeast corner of Hoover and Green Street. After that, a more permanent structure was built on the same intersection but on the northwest corner. Over the years, the business has grown in product line and services.
In 1957, Stanley Burns, Owner, had completed his University of Michigan Business Degree studies and his military service. It was at this time he re-joined the Company with his step-father, George. Together, George and Stan continued to expand the areas we served. Additionally, they added new services and product lines.
Today the 10,000 square foot showroom located at 3496 Pontiac Trail, Ann Arbor, is a testament to the quality workmanship, products, and customer service that has been offered for over 60 years.
